The 2025 Season Begins
Florence, September 29, 2025 – The Mascarade Opera Foundation is pleased to announce its 2025/2026 concert season, an exciting journey through tradition and innovation, sacred and operatic music, with a program full of unmissable performances and events.
The season opens on Thursday, October 2, 2025, with Night of Stars, a special event featuring the new generation of Mascarade Artists, young talents ready to emerge on the international music scene. The event will take place at the Foundation’s headquarters on Via Il Prato 56, offering the audience a glimpse of a brilliant artistic future.
On October 30, 2025, the season continues with another evening of great intensity: Broken Vows: Rivalry and Infidelity, presenting scenes from the works of Bellini and Mozart, drawing the audience into the heart of operatic drama and passion.

At the pinnacle of the season, Saturday, November 29, the magnificent Church of Santa Felicita will host the gala concert of the festival “Sacred Masterpieces of the Medici”, held from November 28 to 30 and curated by the New Generation Festival (NGF).
The evening will feature the world premiere of a new work by internationally renowned composer Nico Muhly, inspired by a Renaissance motet and reinterpreted in a contemporary style. The composer will be present in the audience, highlighting the uniqueness of this event.
The concert is free to attend, with the option to make a donation. Contributions will support the festival, a rare occasion that each year brings to light some of the rarest and most precious masterpieces of sacred music. The program will be performed by Vox Medicea, directed by Mark Spyropoulos, and the distinguished English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble.

The season concludes on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with Voci di Luce, a Christmas concert in the evocative Church of San Salvatore in Ognissanti, inspired by the tradition of the Nine Lessons and Carols, a Christmas rite born in Cambridge that alternates biblical readings with choral singing.
